We asked Martin Wehling, General Manager of our DZ BANK Singapore Branch, for a few insights about his customers, business and the expertise of his house.

Who uses your services and expertise?

We accompany the customers of DZ BANK Germany as well as those of our shareholders, the German Cooperative Banks, into the Asian region. Equally, we offer our expertise and networks in the German and European markets to Asian companies.

What are crucial factors for a successful venture into the ASEAN market?

Start with a detailed market research including regulatory matters and offers of tax/investment incentives, possibly team up with a local partner, bring a lot of understanding for cultural differences, be adaptable and digitally agile and you will find a market with a young, energetic population eager to learn and consume.
